Tips and FAQs
Tips for Standing to Pee
-Always practice in the shower first. It's easier to use an STP without pants on and easy to clean up.
-Do not push up from the bottom of the STP Cup- this can warp the cup while in use and cause leakage. Instead, use your legs to squeeze the sides of the cup inwards a little. This will deepen the cup and prevent spillage.
Tips for Packing
Our STP Skins are lightweight and compressable, STP cup and tube will add bulk and siffness.
-Removing the STP when not in use allows for more comfortable packing.
-Turn the STP cup sideways to compress and reduce profile.
-Choosing pants with a longer inseam/zipper will make packing much easier. Tight jeans with a short zipper are the hardest to pack in.
-The Clip In Waistband Harness allows for the most adjustability.
What is the best harness for me?
-The Clip In Waistband Harness offers more flexibility for placement and adjusting. Available in both adjustable and fitted. The adjustable harness is a practical solution allowing for size discrepancies, but it does have one small metal slider. The fitted Clip In Waistband Harness has no metal parts, however, you must ensure that it is measured to fit your waistband including the width of the prosthetic you intend to use.
-The Sling Shot Harness secures snugly around each thigh and holds your STP Skin in place between the legs. The Sling Shot Harness is low profile with no waistband, and is also available in fitted or adjustable sizing. It holds the STP Skin securely in place but offers less movement for adjustment.
Can I use the Clip In Harness with other products?
Our products are made from a strong and flexible platinum silicone that does not tear when using the Clip In Harness. We can not guarantee that made from other materials will not tear when using the Clip In Harness.
How long of a STP Tube should I buy?
We sell our STP Tubes in 2 lengths, 6 inches and 12 inches. Most people will need to cut their tube to fit. If using with an STP Skin, your STP Tube needs to be atleast as long as the shaft. The rest of the Tube length will depend on the distance from the front of your trousers to approximately the placement of your urethra. All bodies are different. If you're not sure we suggest buying the larger tube and trimming it to size once you can experiment in person with it.
How do I cut the STP Tube to fit?
In order to make our products customizable to every body, we use a premanufactured silicone tube which can be trimmed to fit by each unique user. The tube is made of a semirigid silicone and may be cut with a regular pair of scissors or a sharp knife.
How do I choose and STP Cup size?
We recommend using a ruler to get an accurate sense of the measurements listed for our Cup sizes. You may also want to use a ruler to measure from the front of your body to the desired point of comfort.
Cleaning and Care Instructions (Silicone Products)
Our Platinum Silicone products may be washed in warm soapy water. To sterilize they may be boiled for two minutes or washed in a mild bleach solution. To remove odor, try soaking in a denture cleaning solution overnight. Always allow to dry completely before storage. Powder with corn starch to prevent chafing as needed.
Cleaning and Care Instructions (Harnesses)
Our harnesses may be hand or machine washed. We recommend air drying as machine drying will reduce the life and strength of the elastic.
